nope...I use one, it is a great tool in alot cases it may be more of a disadvantage in some situations if you drive too close...also you will smell like exhaust...so that could hurt you

Thats been my opinion lately. I would like to have one to assist in packing but for actual hunting I dont see myself on one for that. Killing a critter is one thing, but getting the meat out of the woods and into a cooler is a higher priority. That's where a ATV would be real handy, but only in the right situations.

I have a Yamaha Grizzly 660 and after shooting my deer this year I was able to drive right up to it,load it on the back and ride 12 miles back to camp. I then loaded the bike in the trailer with the deer still on the back and drove home. I haven't had to use my winch yet but I can't imagine going in the woods without it. Also a great thing to have while scouting

I used a honda foreman this year in nevada and it was priceless. It was a neccesity to get back away from everybody to where the deer were. Theres no way we could have packed in that far on foot. It packed two of us out with our gear and the 4-point my dad shot on it with no problem. Like I said, PRICELESS.

Yea they have been provin to be a great tool but they can also be a really big headache. My dad was hunting back in 2003, he was parked in his pickup waiting for it to get light. About 10 minutes before it got light a person drove right past him and around the gate and drove his little 4 four wheeler right to where dad was going to hunt. It completely ruined his hunt. AND it was opening morning. Thats one of the biggest reason that I don't like them. People think they can do what ever and go where ever they want with a four wheeler. Not saying all people that drive four wheelers are like that but there are a few that just ruin it for everyone.

We have the same problemb here with them. The funny thing is I thought tank traps and gates meant no motorized vehicles? Don't get me wrong I have no problemb with some one bending the rules a bit to retrieve a animal ,but to go around people is wrong. We have people here that will drive up the bank in thier rigs to get around and drive right past ya walking down a road. I think that it needs to be patrolled more cause we are generally at high fire levels here and they still riding in closed areas but nobody ever does anything about it. I'm also not to keen on finding fourwheeler tracks in bedding areas it just gripes my butt. Then it just comes back to ethics and respect for the land we can hunt. I wish the select few that don't relize what the long end consequences are , could relize they are ruining it for every ones kids. Sorry but this is a sore subject for me I could go on forever but I'll leave it at this.

I have one and agree totally with what you guys are saying. I use mine as a tool and I have ran into some of the same people you are talking about. Up in my area we have had some timber companies shut gates unless it is hunting season because people do not respect what is not theirs. The one thing I can say for myself and for the people I hunt with is we would not ever think about getting rid of our bikes at this point because they make life a lot easier. I just hope that more people that have a clue start getting on them and have respect for the land and felow hunters.
