Ok now its the sixth. so let try this again. No date just tell us your a camping, hunting, or fishing story that sticks in your mind. and guys lets not lie about the one that got away. In fact I will go first. Probably the reason I'm not a huge fan of the camping
I remember when I was 8 yrs. old. My parents and us five kids went camping. 4 girls and 1 boy. Old dodge station wagon. My dad was in the Air Force but wanted to do a family outing. My mother is not the out doors type. Remember this, it will come back into play later.
So Dad and my brother Ed pack up all the fishing gear, tent, cooking untensils. And off we go to the woods. I don't even know what state we were living in at the time. Of course us five kids fought the whole ride to this place. And were asking that repetative question. "Are we there yet". "How much longer". We did get there about 3 hours later and everyone helped set up camp.
From the moment we got there my mom was so busy organizing and cleaning that Ed and Dad just took off to fish. Lucky them. I was and still am the youngest of the five so mom still had the reighn on me and did just that. The girls went hiking and also pestered my dad and Ed. NO.....not me. I had to stay close by. all I heard was Susan, get down from that tree, Susan get over here by me, there may be a bear, (oh I could only hope there would be). Susan don't throw rocks, don't play in the dirt. excuse me, its all dirt here. We are camping for God sakes in the woods what do want me to do? We are supposed to be roughing it and sleeping in tents. What next a bath and a bed time?
I should never have asked that question. The woman made me take a sponge bath put on pajama's, and sleep in the back of the staion wagon with her while the the 3 girls and Dad and Ed slept in a tent. They stayed up having fun around a camp fire while I had a bath and bedtime. I know your all laughing histerically but really. If that is camping. I don't want to do it. I guess that is what turned me away from it. And our family never went again.
Oh yeah, did i mention I never got to eat the fish they caught. Mom brought hamburger and hot dogs for us.

About 17 years ago me and about 6 of my friends and there kids went hunting in eastern oregon we where setting by the fire one night and talking when I ask to of the boys if they would go acrossed the field that we where camped on of course they said yes I said ok go across and break of a branch and bring it back it was about 100 yards acrossed so they grabbed a flash light and off they went let me tell you that flash light was looking every direction as they headed acrossed, after they got half way across I want out in the field and waited for them to come back, I set down and let them to pass, they got about 25 yards passed me when I got up and took off running after them they took off like a shot and didn't even look back, I chased them all the was back to camp they ran right passed every one in camp and went right in to the trailer. when they finally came out they said they thought it was a wild animal and that they where done for. I don't think there feet even touched the ground they were gone it was one of the funniest things I have seen. It has been many years now they are grown up now and when we get together it always seams to come up and we all start to laugh it was one of the best hunting trips we have ever taken
