Just wanted to know everyones opinion on the new bag limits archery elk. I thought things were doing well and they needed to target units specifically and not the whole state. I know we have great bull to cow ratios here on the west side but I am not a biologist either.

I dont care for them at all. I know the west side isnt going to be affected at all. Im sure they are going to allow any elk in those units unless its a draw unit like the Powers. Its the eastside units that are going to take the hits. I really think youll start seeing more and more east side units going to draw hunts like the Ochocos in the next 5 years. Itll be great for trophy potential but its going to exclude a lot of people who live over there on the east side from hunting close to home each season and Id hate to see that happen.

Me too then the pressure will double over here. For a agency that is suffering from lack of hunting and fishing revenue they are doing a great job discouraging people from bieng and becoming hunters.

I agree complete to what ya ll are saying. Man I sure hope they wont make archery all the way across controlled. That will tick plenty of people off including myself.
