I am stationed in Warrenton and looking for places to hunt this spring. I have done some research and it look like around the Roseburg and Medford areas are going to have the most birds. Are there any good public lands to hunt? I don't want to take anyone's hot spot, just wandering if someone could point me in the right direction?

Douglas County has, by far, the highest turkey population. I am not sure how to go about hunting though. I have asked landowners in the past but have not talked anyone into it. If you could find public land you would probably have a shot at it. Good luck with the hunt!

I only know a couple of places here that are public and holds birds. I am not a huge turkey hunter but I do know that most of our birds are on private land. You just gotta go and ask some will let you some wont. I have heard there are some birds out side of tiller on public ground but as for where I do not know. I will do some askin at work and see if I can find out where they are hiding.

You will certainly find birds around Roseburg. Are you familiar with the North Bank Habitat area. there are birds there and its public land. Get in contact with the Roseburg branch of the ODFW they can point you in the right direction.

Well, I did manage to find the North bank habitat area. The birds do know what side of the fence to be on though
