Rumor has it if you would happen to hit a deer you are now able to keep the meat, but you will be required to call the state police. Now I am not at all for sure about this so if any one has any thing about keeping road kill I would sure like to hear about it. ;D
About 4 years ago I was going threw the Sisters area and there was around 20 deer hit that night. So we called the state police to see if we could get a few of them and the said NO WAY. Well I thought it was a sure waste of meat but for some reason they were saying that the hit deer were not safe for consumption. I tried to beg a differ with the officer but they stuck to there guns and all the deer along that stretch of highway went to waste.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with a fresh road kill and wasn't hit by a 18 wheeler. So any info on this would be great. ;D

I haven't heard but I do have a few state trooper friends that would know. I'll see what I can find out.
