SILETZ RIVER : Anglers continue to have good success for winter steelhead throughout the Siletz River Basin . Many fish have moved into the upper basin above Moonshine Park . Good catch rates should continue through the weekend. During high flows, anglers should concentrate on upper river and headwater areas first as river conditions improve more rapidly.

North and South Santiam river levels remain low with continued dry weather. Flows are currently at early summer levels with water conditions and clarity good. Steelhead numbers passing Willamette Falls picked up some last week as water temperatures started to warm The lower and middle reaches of both forks should be producing good opportunities to catch a steelhead. Most of these fish will be unmarked and must be released, but a few summers will be showing up soon.

Went fishing Monday at Antelope Flat reservoir and there is a really bad algae bloom. Lots of water but never even got a bite there. I went over by the dam and checked the run off, it smelled just like sewage. I'm sure the fish are dying there. Went to another spot and limited out on rainbows and beer.
