It's getting closer. Of all the summer fishing shad are the funnest in my opinion. Lots of action and hard fightin fish, and the best thing is you don't have to keep em and get all stinky if ya dont want to Anybody else look forward to those little silver tarpon?

I didn't know there was shad in Oregon. When I was growing up in Ohio, I lived right next to Lake Erie and we would snag them in the fall. They are a great fighting fish but sure are slimy. I guess they are also called freshwater drum. So fill me in, how do you fish for them and where are they? Sounds like a lot of fun.

Basically you throw either a shad dart or crappie jig into water that hold schools of fish. We usually catch em from middle of may til end of June. If you are interested we can get you in em!!!

our shad are any where from 2-4 pounds, fight like a steel head ,and when it is hot it is a blast. I use a 4 ' pan fish rod with 4 or 6 poun test. makes it a great fight and easy to feel the light bite. Usually burn up a reel or two they like to take line and it is great for kids .easy to catch. let us know if ya are interested. ;D
