Opening morning arrives with a very cold breeze. Not a cloud in sight. I head out from camp with my little brother to find the ghost of the woods. When we made it back in the woods about a mile I tried the cow call just to see what would happen, a about a minute later a hear snow crunching coming from behind me. I look to see what it was and there were two other hunters following me. So I was a little upset and decided to move on. About another 200 yards along a noticed movement in the trees than I noticed it was the same two hunters paralleling me. Now getting really mad I decided to move in a whole new area which screwed my day of hunting. So I thought. After traveling about 8 miles or so I went back to camp. As soon as I walked into camp my 2 way radio went off with my dad yelling on the other end that I have a cow coming right at camp. So me and my little brother took off toward them and they were about a half mile or so away. When we meet up with them we all started to follow her tracks. Well in the snow with 5 people it got to noisy so I told them that I would follow her tracks if they wanted to go back to camp to get something to eat. Well I made it about half way on the other side of the hill when dad gets back on the radio yelling again saying there were three more headed my way. No sooner than him saying that I heard the thunder from there hoofs. Than bam I see them coming one is heading right to me and from a different angle the other one is coming right at me. So I had to decide what cow to shoot. Well I choose the one at my left. I pulled up on her and she stopped right in her tracks. So I fired at 40 yards drilled her right below the neck. She turned and started to head down so I fired again, than again, than again, than again, than again, than I fired the last shot. When I got up to her I still had to put one more in her. I shot her 6 times out of 7 shots. I was so amazed to how much will power they have. the whole time I was shooting I thought that I was missing her. Nope I put one in her neck, two in her shoulder, two in her ribs, and one in her head. Not including the last shot to finish her off with the Glock.
