Can someone PLEASE help out a couple of "greenhorns" ??
#yoshi6gz#
What does everyone use to go fishing in deep reservoirs off the bank? How big of sinkers do you use? What kind of bait?
Don't laugh.. ;D but can one just use a bobber, and a long line going into the water?
We just want to learn how to do this...
Thanks!!

Howlingwind, Just an idea take that bobber and throw it away. For the basic Oregon fishing (that I have done) stick three weights (the little clamp on ones) put it about a foot past the hook. Stick a worm on it and give it a cast. Let it sink and and tighten up your line. Be sure not to catch a rock or logs on the bottom. This is the base level of fishing. There are alote of people here that knows alote about this sport. I'm sure they will be more than willing to help you out.
(NOTE:) Be sure to check all fishing regs before you fish it.

Some people like to put a small tear drop weight on the bottom and about 12 to 14 inches up on a three way swivel they put there hook. but I prefere using a hook on the bottom like BB said but I use about a 16 inch leader and a barrel swivel with a sliding egg sinker 1\4 to 1\2 ounce above the swivel.hope this helps. Oh and a size 6 hook will catch about anything in a lake.

Hey no prob if ya go and get skunked let me know about what ya are fishing for and water clarity and the reservior in general, and I will give ya more ideas. We do a lot of fishing in the local reseviors and ,some in the high lakes. Not to contrdict billybob but I still use a bobber. But how you fish it is a whole new ball game. Lots of ways and different styles. Like I said let me know what ya find and I wll do my best to get ya some fish on the table. You might ask (if ya don't know) some people about what species of fish live in th res. and this will help me help you. ;D
